UPDATE: Soccer standout Wade, U.S. U-17 National Team to play on T.V.

South Orange’s Wesley Wade will meet his first televised opportunity to excel after winning the Golden Boot in Spain for US Soccer’s U-17 Men’s National Team.
Wade is scheduled to start as forward for the U-17 MNT at 5 p.m. on Fox Soccer on Wednesday, Nov. 30 vs. France; Friday Dec. 2 vs.Turkey and Sunday Dec. 4 vs. Brazil.
This USA milestone for Wade and the U-17 MNT is the only tournament scheduled to be televised this year and a great chance for Wade’s South Orange, Maplewood, Livingston and Montclair friends and previous local South Orange Cougars, Lions, MKA and NY RedBull Development soccer teammates to see him play "live" since he began training with the U.S. Team at IMG Academy and attending school at St. Stephens Episcopal School in Bradenton Fla. in September.
Wesley called to say, “I miss playing with my New Jersey teammates from the South Orange Cougars, Livingston Lions, MKA and NY RedBulls Development teams.”
Wade and the U-17 MNT are preparing for two years for the U-17 World Cup in 2013 under the leadership of US Soccer coach Wilmer Cabrera.
The team’s future progress can be tracked in articles, videos and photos on USSoccer.com’s “U17 MNT” team highlights.

The 20-player squad is made up entirely of players born in 1996, with 16 of them hailing from Development Academy clubs. Of the 20 players, 17 of them traveled to Europe in October for the 2011 AGS Cup in Spain and the Val-de-Marne Tournament in France. Wade led the team with five goals during the European trip.
