The Columbia High School varsity wrestling team, which finished with a 12-9 mark, was sparked by a slew of standouts this season.
Heavyweight James Goode enjoyed a strong season for the Cougars. Goode, a senior, went 24-8, which included a 12-1 mark in the Super Essex Conference and a 7-0 record in the SEC-Liberty Division.
Goode was second at the Rahway Holiday tournament, fifth at the Essex County Tournament, first at the District 10 tournament and a Region 3 quarterfinalist.

The Columbia High School boys’ fencing team. ranked No. 1 in the Star-Ledger State Top 10, capped off their undefeated dual-meet season by taking home the State team tournament title at Morris Hills in Rockaway on March 2 with a crowd-pleasing 15-12 victory against State No. 2-ranked Bernards.
