Come relax, rewind, reflect, renew with Dvorak, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Greig and The Masterwork Chorus
The Masterwork Chorus invites you to refresh your soul on May 2 at 3 pm at the Calvary Episcopal Church in Summit, NJ as they perform Dvorak’s Mass in D, and selected other inspirational works for choir and organ. While Dvorak maybe best known now for “The New World Symphony,” the Mass in D, was widely performed in its day, and is recognized as an uplifting masterwork for choir and organ. It will be accompanied by other pieces of the romantic period known for their passionate and expressive nature. Andrew Megill, Associate Professor of Music at Westminster Choir College, directs the 90-voice choir. The choir will be accompanied by Jim Little, the noted organist, and will include soloists Casandra LaMotte, Mary Pat Finucane, J.D. Burnett and Matthew Knickman. The concert will be preceded by a mini-lecture at 2:15 pm by Jim Little about the historic 47-rank pipe organ. So please join us, we will thank you (and your soul will too!)
